The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has unveiled Euromatch as its new title sponsor in a landmark three-year partnership worth $7.5 million.

The agreement, unveiled in valued at $2.5 million per season and will see the league renamed EuroMatch NPFL from the 2026/27 season.

The ceremony also featured the unveiling of the league’s new visual identity and logo, marking what officials described as a new commercial chapter for Nigerian domestic football.

NPFL Chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye, said the partnership would provide significant financial support to the league, with a substantial portion of the sponsorship revenue going directly to participating clubs and players.

Elegbeleye said 60 per cent of the annual sponsorship fee, amounting to $1.5 million, would be distributed among the 20 participating clubs to support players’ salaries, welfare and other club-related needs.

Under the arrangement, each club will receive an equal annual allocation of $75,000, while the remaining $1 million from the yearly sponsorship value will go to the league.

The partnership is expected to strengthen the NPFL’s financial structure while supporting efforts to improve player welfare, broadcasting, branding and the overall commercial value of the competition.

Speaking at the unveiling, former Sports Minister and Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, described the deal as evidence that the government’s drive to treat sports as a business was beginning to attract significant investment.

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Musa Gusau, also welcomed the agreement, saying the partnership would strengthen the NPFL and create greater opportunities for clubs and players.
