Chelsea have completed the signing of England international Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa on a long-term contract that will keep the 23-year-old at Stamford Bridge until 2033.
The Premier League club confirmed the transfer as Rogers brings an end to his two-year spell with Villa, where he played a key role in the club’s successful campaign that culminated in a Europa League triumph in May.
Rogers scored in Aston Villa’s 3-0 victory over Freiburg in the final, helping the club secure its first major European trophy since 1982.
The versatile attacker, who can operate on either wing or in an advanced midfield role, joined Villa from Middlesbrough in 2024. He made 125 appearances for the club, scoring 31 goals, before earning his first England cap later that year.

Speaking after completing the move, Rogers said he was delighted to join Chelsea, describing the London club as one he had admired since childhood.
“I’m so excited. For me, Chelsea are the biggest club in London and a club I’ve always admired since I was a kid,” he said.
Rogers added that Chelsea’s ambitions and ongoing project under the new manager were major factors behind his decision to join the club.
“I’m really excited about the project with the new manager, the players we’ve got and where the club is heading. That’s why I’m here and I can’t wait to get started,” he said.
Chelsea’s previous record transfer was the £115 million acquisition of Ecuador international Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023.
Rogers was part of England’s squad that finished third at the FIFA World Cup, featuring in seven of the team’s eight matches.
He also enjoyed his best domestic campaign last season, scoring 10 goals in the Premier League.
Chelsea, who ended last season in 10th position, will open their new Premier League campaign away against Fulham on August 24.
