A woman has died shortly after giving birth to five babies at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, in Kano State, Northern Nigeria.

The incident occurred late Wednesday night, just hours after she successfully delivered the quintuplets under medical supervision.

According to the reports her condition suddenly worsened after childbirth, despite efforts by doctors to save her.

Hospital sources said the newborns are currently receiving intensive medical care, although their condition has not yet been officially disclosed.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Ministry of Health, Nabulisi Abubakar, confirmed the woman’s death.

However, authorities have yet to issue a detailed statement on the exact cause.

The incident has sparked grief among family members and sympathizers, who gathered at the hospital following the news.

Officials say further information will be released after ongoing medical reviews are completed.
