Fifty officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) have graduated from the three-month Junior Course 25 at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, Abuja, in a move aimed at strengthening professional leadership and operational capacity within the Service.
The graduation ceremony, held on Friday, August 28, 2026, was attended by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, who served as the Special Guest of Honour.
Addressing the graduating officers, Adeniyi charged them to uphold integrity, sound judgment and the national interest in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He stressed that effective leadership in modern Customs administration goes beyond revenue generation, requiring competence, accountability and the ability to make sound decisions in complex operational environments.
“Leadership is not defined solely by the rank that you wear, but is demonstrated through competence, fairness, courage and the responsibility you take,” Adeniyi told the graduates.

He urged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the course to effectively respond to the evolving demands of Customs operations.
The Commandant of the College, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs, Dow Gaura, commended the officers for their dedication throughout the training.
Gaura also highlighted efforts to strengthen the institution, including the introduction of digital learning tools and strategic training partnerships with the Nigerian Army.
The ceremony featured the presentation of certificates to all 50 graduates, while the three best-performing officers received special awards from the Comptroller-General.
The graduation activities began on Wednesday, August 26, with a regimental dinner where the Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs, Suleiman Chiroma, representing the CGC, urged the officers to demonstrate vigilance, professionalism and decisive leadership in their various commands.
He tasked the graduates with translating the lessons acquired at the college into effective performance as they assume their post-graduation responsibilities across the Service.
