Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated its determination to end terrorism and violent attacks across the country, following renewed clashes between security forces and insurgents in Borno State.

According him official reports said, Nigerian troops have recently intensified both ground and aerial operations targeting insurgent groups, leading to the elimination of several fighters and key commanders.

Authorities described the latest counterattacks by the insurgents as a sign of mounting pressure and weakening resolve within their ranks.

The government also paid tribute to fallen military personnel, including Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah, who lost his life alongside other soldiers during operations in the state.

Officials extended condolences to their families, acknowledging the sacrifices made in the line of duty to protect the nation.

Reaffirming its stance, the government pledged that the deaths of the soldiers would not be in vain, emphasizing that ongoing efforts to combat terrorism have only strengthened national resolve.

President Tinubu, urged members of the Armed Forces to remain steadfast, resilient, and committed despite the challenges faced on the frontlines.

“Military leadership and troops across all operational zones were encouraged to continue serving with dedication, patriotism, and courage”.

He assured continued support for the Armed Forces, including improved welfare and the provision of necessary equipment to enhance their effectiveness.

The President urged, Nigerians and media organizations to support the military’s efforts and to refrain from actions or narratives that could undermine troop morale.

The statement stressed that soldiers risking their lives for national security should be regarded as heroes deserving of respect and unity.

Condolences were equally extended to the government and residents of Borno State, with a renewed commitment from federal authorities to collaborate with state officials in restoring peace and achieving lasting stability in the region.
