Kano sets for 2nd Annual Conference in November 4, 2025 as Preparations begins for Nigerian Broadcaster and Induction Ceremony of the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB) have officially commenced following the inauguration of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) in Kano on Tuesday.
The inauguration follows the successful efforts of the SNB President, Prof. Umaru A. Pate, and the Director of Media to the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, in securing the approval of the Kano State Government to host the prestigious national event.
In a goodwill message sent from Norway, where he is attending an international conference, Prof. Pate charged the committee members to work tirelessly to ensure a successful and memorable conference, the first of its kind to be held in Kano.
According to him, the event—scheduled for November 20th and 21st, 2025—is expected to attract over 400 professional broadcasters and inductees from across Nigeria and beyond. He urged the committee to develop a comprehensive blueprint that would guarantee a seamless and impactful gathering.
Prof. Pate also expressed gratitude to the Kano State Government for its commitment to ethical broadcasting and media professionalism, describing the hosting of the conference as a step that would place the state’s name prominently in the annals of Nigerian broadcasting history.
The Local Organizing Committee, made up of experienced broadcasters, academics, and communication experts, is chaired by Alhaji Ado Saidu Warawa, Vice President of SNB (North-West Zone), with Dr. Garba Ubale Danbatta, General Manager of Radio Nigeria Pyramid FM, serving as Secretary.
Other members include Prof. Sulaiman Yar’Adua, Prof. Nura Ibrahim, Prof. Sule Ya’u Sule, Hajiya Sa Ibrahim (former Vice Chairperson, BON), Hajiya Wasila Ladan (National Secretary, NAWOJ), Sulaiman Dederi (Chairman, NUJ Kano Council), Ibrahim Yaro Dawakin Tofa, Hajiya Aishtu Sule (General Manager, MUHASA Radio/TV Kano), Muhammad Sunusi Jibrin (General Manager, AMASCO Radio), and Hajiya Aishatu Bello Mahmud of Freedom Radio Kano.
