Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral media relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia following a high-level meeting with the Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria, Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Balawi.
During the discussions, Nigerian authorities acknowledged ongoing collaboration between both countries and confirmed endorsement of three key Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) proposed by Saudi officials to expand cooperation in the media and communication sector.
The agreements include partnerships between the News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) and the Saudi Press Agency on news exchange; collaboration in broadcasting between the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Saudi Broadcasting Authority; and cooperation in audiovisual regulation involving the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) and relevant Saudi regulatory institutions.
Officials noted that the agreements are expected to improve professional exchanges, encourage balanced information sharing, and reinforce media diplomacy between the two nations.

The meeting also explored transportation links, with Nigerian representatives expressing support for ongoing conversations on the possible restoration of direct flight services between Jeddah and Abuja.
Both sides described the engagements as part of broader efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
