Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) is mourned the tragic loss of seven journalists who died in a devastating accident along Gombe State yesterday evening.
Among the deceased are two members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Gombe State Chapter.
The journalists were returning from the wedding ceremony of a colleague, a staff member of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), when their vehicle involved in a fatal accident.
Four other journalists, including one NAWOJ member, sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving medical attention.
NAWOJ president, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim extends her deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, the injured, and the entire journalism community.
“We pray for the souls of the departed to rest in peace and for the injured to recover swiftly”, the president added.
This tragic incident has dealt a severe blow to the journalism community in Gombe State and Nigeria at large.
NAWOJ stand in solidarity with the affected families and call on all well-meaning Nigerians to join us in praying for the departed and the injured.
